Railcare signs strategic railway maintenance cooperation agreement
Railcare has signed an important, strategic agreement with Bridgeway Consulting Ltd regarding the operation of Railcare’s Railvac air & vacuum excavation machines in the UK. In the first stage the cooperation agreement is valid until 2014, with option for further extension.
The two Swedish companies Railcare and DISAB Vacuum Technology AB have been active on the UK railway market since 2006, marketing Railvac machines to local railway maintenance, enhancement and renewal companies. The market has developed very positive, especially since the end of 2010 when Railcare announced investments in marketing projects and a RA7-UK Railvac machine, especially designed for the UK railway.
“The UK market can benefit substantially from the Railcare methods within railway maintenance, enhancement and renewal. The methods are developed in cooperation with the Swedish railway administration over many years”, says Railcare Export AB’s MD Håkan Johansson and continues; “They are very applicable as the railway industry is focusing on increased capacity and quality railway maintenance. Changes in attitudes and a better utilisation of the supply chain are examples of things that already have been implemented in parts of the UK network.
“The UK is an enormous growth market when it comes to new, innovative maintenance methods. This in combination with the response to our own actions on the UK railway market encourages us even further and gives us a platform to develop from long-term. Railcare is in the UK to stay!” says Ulf Marklund, Managing Director , Railcare Group.
Bridgeway Consulting’s owner and Managing Director, Pino DeRosa agrees and adds his thoughts on the cooperation.
“Even though Bridgeway has a very good reputation, our market position will be improved through the cooperation with the Railcare Group, adding a new branch to our organization with new potential customers for our core businesses. Railcare’s maintenance, enhancement and renewal methods are innovative, unique and have no real competition within the railway industry in the UK today.
